It's easy to clean.

You'll need:
• An old toothbrush (you could use a new one if you really want.)
• Warm, soapy water or Stamp Cleaner
BUT: Water won't clean some inks - you'll need Stamp Cleaner if you're using a special ink
• A rag (don't use a paper towel - it will leave fibers on your newly cleaned stamp)
• A dirty rubber stamp (borrow one if you have to)

First, a disclaimer:
This is to clean only a regular rubber stamp or deluxe metal pocket stamp.
To clean a Self Inking Stamp or a Heavy Duty Self Inking Stamp you follow these instructions,
but you have to lock the frame in the open position to get to the rubber printing plate.
This is not the way to clean a Pre-Inked Stamp
But, there's more:
Some rubber stamps are made out of a special plastic called photopolymer.
They make a nice rubber stamp, but they can break if you're too rough when cleaning it.
Our rubber stamps are made out of real rubber, and you can be a little rougher with them.
So if you don't know which you have, please be gentle with your stamp.
We don't want you to break your stamp.

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR STAMP: (finally)
Put some water or cleaner on the rag.
Press the stamp on the rag (to soak the surface of the stamp).
   Wet the toothbrush.
Gently rub the surface of the stamp with the toothbrush to wipe away the dirt.
Wipe the surface of the stamp with rag, if necessary.
Keep doing this until the stamp is clean. (It might take 2 or 3 times.)
Of course, some inks will not come off even with stamp cleaner.
For those inks, you'll need rubber cement thinner, also called naptha, also (sometimes) called lighter fluid (check the label).
You can also use nail polish remover, which is usually acetone.
Naptha and acetone are really, really flammable. You should only work with in a well-ventilated area.
Also, wear gloves. (protect yourself when working with hazardous chemicals)
Use naptha or acetone the same way you would use water or stamp cleaner.
